Malayoid
This giant bird which is famous in Japan as a longcrower has been created some 250 years ago a rural area North of Akita city, situated on the main island Kyushu. Later on, the provinces Akita, Iwate and Aomori developed themselves as centers of breeding. The "Koeyoshi" is a crossed breed and created using the large O-Shamo and the Tomaru longcrower. This gave the breed a deep long crow sounding like a foghorn of a ship. If this multi-purpose breed due to its Shamo blood still is, or has been used as pure pitfowl is unknown. Its size, weight and pitfowl background gives the breed a certain potential. The "Koeyoshi" can reach a height of more than 3 feet (+ 90 Cm) and reach following weights: male 10 LBs (4.5 Kgs), the female 8.2 Lbs (3.7 Kgs). Typical features: pearlish to yellow-pale eyes, triple peacomb, a deep long crow upto 15 seconds long with a minimum of 7 seconds, shankcolour: yellow. In 1964, the city of Oodate by governamental support, installed a breeding center. The "Koeyoshi" breed has been imported into Germany, were it slowly gains popularity.
